Joey began serving as pastor of TGBC in August of 2015. He was born in central Indiana and spent most of his time growing up in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Joey met his wife Rose at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and they have been married since 2006. They have one daughter, Lily, who brings great joy to their lives. Joey received a Masters of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, Tennessee, in 2007 and he has been in the ministry for over 20 years serving in churches in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Maine. He is an avid Indiana Hoosier and Tennessee Volunteer fan! He enjoys sports and the outdoors. He loves to travel, sightsee, play board games, and spend time with family and friends.

Nick was born and raised in Morristown, Tennessee. He has been serving as the Next Generation Pastor here at Thorn Grove Baptist since October of 2018. He graduated from Johnson University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Youth Ministry and Preaching. He married his wonderful wife Brittani in November of 2014. They have one daughter, Kambreigh, who went home to be with the Lord in 2016 and one son, Jaemon, who was born in 2017. He loves to be active and take any chance that he has to hang out with his students, share the gospel with them, and build Christ centered relationships with them.
Karen Scott is from Madisonville, TN and graduated from Maryville College. Karen and her husband, James, were married in 2009. They have lived and worked in Knoxville since being married. They still attend worship and serve at First Baptist Church in Madisonville. Karen began working at TGBC in 2017, and has loved getting to know our church family. Karen serves on the Board of Directors for Harvest Field Ministries. She has been traveling to Les Anglais, Haiti with this ministry since 2012.
